Hey all
Well thought i;d round up South Island with another update - i have 15 minutes to kill on the internet so be warned! After liz heading back to snowy London, Anna and I travelled down to Mount Cook. Which would have been great if it wasnt for the nonstop fog and torrential rain. Spent a dull 24 hours in Mount Cook village - surrounded by a stunning mountain range we couldn't see! After mount cook we headed down to Queenstown, a stunning place - my fav so far. Really lively (specially for NZ!) and the bars stayed open till 4am! Spent a few nights drinking cocktails served in teapots which was muchos fun, and went on the gondola and luge - muchos fun. Went on a daytrip to Milford sound - very lord of the rings type scenery. Despite the rain the drive there was pretty spectacular.
After we spent a week (!) in Queenstown we headed up the west coast, stopped off at various places, and did a hike up the Franz Josef Glacier. Was pretty funny - and i couldnt walk for 3 days afterwards but it was soo cool. Very steep tho but fun all the same! Spent a while in Nelson checking out various National Parks - hired a stunning little car called Boris as we were so bored of buses by then! Was really nice up in Abel Tasman - the beaches and water compared to that of the Whitsundays - was soo pretty.
Got the ferry over to Wellington - the capital of NZ, in the North Island where we spent a couple of days deciding what to do for the next to weeks. Hence why were off to fiji tommorrow! Looking forward to some snorkelling, diving and sunbathing - but i wont rub it in too much.
After that we are booked on a 2 week tour round the north island so should be fun.
Anyways havent got much else to say - off to stock up on some suncream! Will fill you in on fiji when im back
