I am currently located in Surfers Paradise but am leaving for Byron Bay in a few hours.

Firstly to say what i have been up to since Airlie Beach. I travelled 14 hr bus journey down to Hervey Bay, but to break up the journey stopped off at a cattle ranch more inland. I was great! nice to see more of the Australian bush. We sat round a camp fire that night, played some rather embarrassing games with complete strangers, cracked a few whips and rode a mechanical bull (i was shockingly bad). The next moring we were worken up very early to do clay pigeon shooting, a goat rodeo and a horse ride all before 10am. I was great fun although my horse hated all the other horses and nearly bucked me off a few times!!!

Afetr all that excitment we finally arrived in Hervey. It's not the most exciting place at all and is really just the place backpackers go to get to Fraser Island. After a few depressing days stuck in retirement central i did my fraser trip, and it was amazing!! Best part of my trip so far, its basically a group of 10 randow people thrown together in to a 4x4 vehicle and sent to fraser island to fend for ourself for 3 days and 2 nights, camping and no showers or toilets. Luckily i had a great group and we all got on brilliantly. We nearly got eaten by dingos a few times and were forced to set up our tent in the pitch black on pre used toilet paper both nights, but still had a great time! Its a beautiful place and has an amazing contrast between rainforest, sand dunes and lakes.

Next stop from Hervey/Fraser island was Noosa. Noosa is lovely. Very upmarket and modern...everyone falls in love with the place even though it does cost a fortune! Stayed there for 3 nights then moved down to Brisbane....
