After a monsterous journey full of delays and curry I finally made it safely to Nepal. I arrived to the busy roads of Kathmandu through which I was taken by taxi - I thought I was going to die. They really don't care and swerve all over the place going on the opposite side of the road just to gain a place further in the jam!
When I reached the hotel, I didn't have the courage to go back out onto the streets; this time by foot, so I stayed inside and settled down to an episode of Friends of course.
The next day, Friday, I did venture out and was taken through the streets of Thamel visiting various Stupas and other religious places whilst trying to avoid the many motorbikes, rikshaws and taxis that sneak up behind you and in front of you sounding their horns all the time for you to move. I survived though but felt very overwhelmed by the whole experience that was Kathmandu city centre.
