Ahh, finally get to sit down and write a new blog now i've actually done some stuff in London.
After a well-needed sleep the first night here, got up bright and early (okay it was 8:30am but i am NOT a morning person) I headed off on a walking tour taking in a fair few of the major landmarks and sites of central London. And as with all good walking tours, apart from working for tips, we we recommended a good pub with 25% off food so we could all get a good feed and rest our very sore feet.
Monday evening I joined a couple of girls from the hostel, Sarah and Kate, both Canadian, for an evening of Shakespere since the Shakespere Globe is bout 10 min walk from our hostel. Pity that Mon nights was the only night without anything running, so we headed back to Leicester Square and the discount theatre ticket outlet to get last min tickets for Avenue Q. I'd seen it before in Melbourne but a show that hilarious can always been seen again, especially with seats in the front row of the Royal Circle (lowest balcony). Fantastic night out.
Today was a trip to Madame Tussands and, despite the cost and the long wait to get in, it was absolutely fantastic. Pity my camera decided to die in the middle of the tour but I did get some nice pics of various famous wax statues. I even encouraged a few famous people to pose with Chuck for a pic (will be posted once my camera battery is charged again). Also at the museum was a 3D Marvel Comic Heroes exhibition, awesome to see but I doubt I'll ever see a movie in 3D, that stuff gave me a headache after a 10min show.
Tonight its back to the theatre to see Chicago, again thanks to the discount ticket outlet. Was the first thing i sort out once I landed in London (other than my hostel) and, unlike my hostel, has served me very well.
On a side note, considering sending home my warmer clothes by mail, it's been 30 degrees and sunny both days I've been here and looks to be the same for Germany. Just thought i'd throw that in to make you all jealous :-)
Till next time
