the drive to Mount Isa was ok. We stopped in Richmond and had brunch by the lake. The roadhouse women yelled at Carli for leaving the door open. Carli maintains it wasn't freakin her who left the door open. We saw many a roadkill mainly kangaroos and wallabies. The biggest shocks were a little black piglet and on the side of the road, a huge bull. It was frozen solid and laying on it's side.
Road trains are massive, at least 50m long. Do not enjoy overtaking these.
Not much to say about this drive. We have a duets down pat, especially Barbie Girl. Bec is Ken and Carli is Barbie, voices of angels. Perhaps one day we will share this with an audience. Beautiful country out here.
When we arrived at Mount Isa, we booked into a caravan park and Bec walked over to the shopping centre. On the way a child tried to snatch her bag. He was un successful in stealing it, however he did freak Bec out. We don't like it here. The cabin we slept in is dirty. It would not surprise us if we now have lice.
Today, we are driving as far as we can possibly get. We got up early to drive but it's still dark and because our car (as manly and rugged as it is) would probably not survive a game of chicken with a kangaroo or a bull, we can't leave until it's light, we have to wait and so we wait.
