Hello we haven't done a blog entry in a while and have since been to Koh Samui to our friends beautiful wedding on the beach, a practically deserted Ko Lanta and are now in Krabi for a few days before we head into Malaysia.
As I say the wedding in Koh Samui was amazing. First we arrived the night before to this stunning resort and I was in heaven with a king size bed, sheets that actually fitted the bed, ac, hot water and a view of the sea. This was more my style than the sheds we had been staying in. That night we met up with the nervous couple and had dinner by the beach, luckily before the massive storm came in.
We had a fantastic buffet breakfast so Pete and I stuffed our faces, it was delicious, it was slightly overcast with a nice breeze, so everyone was keeping their fingers crossed that there wouldn't be any rain. We saw them setting the stage for the wedding, with a raised sand platform, palm leaves in the shapes of hearts and a beautiful flower arch. The morning was spent with a brief moped ride into town (check out the sexy helmets) and then time chilling by the pool, before it was time to get ready.
It was so exciting and as every girl does I felt like crying especially when the bride came out of her room. It was a lovely service, followed by lots of stunning pictures on the beach, cracking open the first bottle of Moet and Chandon before it was time for dinner. They had set up the table on the beach and we tucked in to our delicious four course dinner and lots of wine. Halfway through a storm threatened so we moved inside, the cake was cut, speeches made and the dancing began. The storm had gone and so we decided to continue the dancing on the beach, it was a fantastic night dancing away.
The next day we stayed at the hotel as long as we could, knowing we would be slumming it again for the next two nights, we had a fantastic lunch and some more wedding cake, while the rain poured down outside. We eventually made it to our new residence about 6.30 and it was the worst accommodation we had stayed in so far. Another shed, with a seriously old mattress, it was damp and smelly and I just didn't want to stay there. The next morning I woke up with a cold and sore throat thanks to the stupid shed, but the sun was shining and walked along the stunning beach into Lamai town.
From Koh Samui we headed to Ko Lanta on the other side of Thailand. We knew the season was just about to finish or had finished, but we didn't realise how deserted it would be. Luckily we had a nice bungalow for a really cheap price. A lot of the resorts and restaurants were closed down, so we mainly chilled out. The sea was quite rough and there was depris on the beach, you could imagine what it was like in peak season, gorgeous, but expensive.
So we are now back on the mainland and planning to head into Malaysia in the next few days and can't wait.
