Had a fabulous week in Broome staying in the back yard of a gouse that backs ointo Cable Beach. It was like living in a forest. lots of swims on Cable Beach and had a few Happy Hour drinks there as well. Drove up Kimberley Coast to Barred Creek and Willie Creek in search of the ever ellusive Barramundi. Mr B believes it it a myth you can catch them. Saw the famous 12 metyre tide rushing in and out. Had a fantastic week. First stop Flora River National Park. 31km dirt. Mr B not happy about the bumpy road. Flat gravel but a few corrugations. Mr B loved the area so much he got runover by a wallaby being chased by local indigenous kids. Ended up with sore ankle. Moved on to Jasper Gorge, 50km corrugated dirt. At a free camp 20km from Katherine. Left Dundee after 4 fantastic days. Dundee is 100km west of Darwin on the coast. All volcanic soil. The blocks are 1, 5 and 10 acres. All scrub so you see very few houses from the red earth roads. Probably like Goolwa 30 years ago but red earth not sand. We had Lots of rest. Lots of fishing. Met all the NT friends of Dave & Brenna. In Dundee with the Schroeder. Went fishing this morning caught 6 baby sharks,5 catfish,numerous pillows full of s... (dave'sname for them). Threw them all back then caught 1 edible fish. Lamb shanks for dinner tonight in camp oven. More fishing tomorrow. Brenna flying to Melb Monday. Hot as hot. Spent 2 hrs in pool to cool off. Have done washing. So all ready to move on.
