Today is a special day for me, MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! As soon as I got up everyone said happy birthday to me. The first thing that we did was go to breakfast. After going to a very nice breakfast, my dad went out to get a cup of coffee. He had already consumed two cups of coffee during breakfast, so it did not make any sense at all. Anyway, the only thing that I wanted to do was open my presents, but of course we had to wait for my dad to do it. After waiting for about 10 minutes he arrived, and then I had to wait another 5 minutes. After the very, very long 15 minute wait, we finally sat down and stared opening presents. My sister, Vittoria came up with this idea. It was that I would put a blind fold on my head, and pick up as many presents as possible. Then I could open those, and continue doing so until I got all of my presents to open. Annabella got me two walkie-talkies, and batteries. YAY!!! Vittoria got me a pencil (That she paid for with her own money), a ping pong set (With a net and stuff), and sunglasses (With a cool case). YAY!!!! My mom and dad got me a raincoat (because I do not have one and I am moving to a very rainy place), a new outfit (I could always use one), a new bathing suit (I really needed one), and A CAMERA!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! After opening the wonderful presents, it was time to GO ON A GONDOLA RIDE!!!!! (complete with singer of course). We got on and went around in the canals of Venice while this guy was singing. We all had to duck to get under the bridges. One day Venice will be no more as the water continues to rise- no one even lives on the ground floor of houses there anymore because they are now filled with water. We went into the Grand Canal, and you would never guess what the singer did- he took his clothes off!!!!! Just joking. He sang Happy Birthday to me in the most amazing opera voice!!!! YAY!!!! After he sang it two times, it was time to get off the boat sadly, and we went to the airport. While we were getting on our one hour flight to Rome, my mom told the flight attendant that it was my birthday. The flight attendant brought me into the cockpit, and she said that this was going to be a great flight since there were two pilots on board. I took some pictures, and then went back to my seat. After getting off the one hour flight, we had a four hour drive to Amalfi. When we got to our hotel in Amalfi we were starving. When we were looking at the food menu inside of the restaurant inside of the hotel, I said "Do you think they have birthday cake?" and my mom told them that it was my birthday. The guy said right away that he had something special for me. After I ate a salad, he brought out something I'm unsure of, but it was lemony and it was good (AMalfi grows the best lemons!). Once the whole lemon cake like thing was gone, we went to bed. Right before we went to bed, I told my parents that they would have to come up with a way to make my sweet 16 better than my 12th birthday. That was the best birthday of my life thus far!
