Today we take an hour taxi ride to Abu Dhabi for the much awaited visit to Ferrari World. Having arrived before the opening time of noon we awe in the sheer size and expense of building this under cover air conditioned extravaganza . Opened only seven months ago, all is still bright and shiny. We experience the Scuderia Challenge. A state of the art racing simulator , racing ferraris on the virtual Yas Marina Circuit. Next we jump into the Ferrari F430 Spider and feel and thrills and Gs of a real race as two competing GT coasters race to the finish line . The highlight of day - Formula Rossa . Accelerate up to 240 km/h and 52m into the sky in less than five seconds in a true F1 experience aboard the worlds fastest roller coaster. An amazing ride , what an experience, not only the speed but going from to air conditioning to the forty degree heat.
lunch in the Ristorante Cavallino an Italian restaurant ( the only eating establishment where you can get alcohol). Wandered through the museum with original formula 1 race cars ( boys impressed) . An excellent time in Abu Dhabi , and we even managed to get a fridge magnet.
