Lay around the pool this morning and then picked up for a trip at 2.30 pm ,to the top of Mauna Kea which houses some of the most powerful telescopes in the world- higher than mount evererest from its base, albeit most of it is covered by the pacific sea! Up and had breakfast around the pool, a workout in the gym ,followed by a lazy day around the pool, and a walk into the shopping market. A few beers around the pool at 4 pm , got ready and headed to Queens market to watch a traditional Hawaiian hula singer who was accompanied by a Hula dancer. Thai meal and off home.

Off in car to to swim in the sea with Mantaray at sunset. Nearly missed the boat due to traffic. Myles and I suited up with snorkel gear and wetsuits and Linda and Naomi watched. Swam off boat to a floating device with underwater lights and cameras ready to see if one turned up - and they did. Flight into Big Island went well. A short 30 Minute hop arriving into an open air baggae drop and check in Airport in Kona- Unreal! Picked up the car and headed to the Marriott at Waikioloa - Fab hotel in its own grounds, beach front and the views from our room are the attached picture. Weather perfect , hot until 3 ish and the balmy walm the rest of the day. Ha lunch , walked the grounds and then headed out for our mantaray excursion.

Hit the beach at Wakiki- perfect - weather 80's , cooling at about 3 pm for the perfect temp. In and out of the turquoise waters. Had to hire beds and brollies- Expensive. I do think Hotels will price themselves out of the market. Invest in Airbnb i think! Chilling day, back and showered then out walking in the balmy heat, a little shopping, followed by a seafood pasta.
