Peter and Caroline's Most Excellent Adventure!!!
After 3 days and one two many hangovers the sight seeing begins. The Meiji Shrine is an oasis in the middle of Tokyo, totally chilled and immaculate, really lets you know where you are in the scheme of things, just look at the entry gate! Just imagine the guard dog behind this little beauty.
Actually it is really the crows you have to look out for, they have no fear of people and hop about like they own the place! One shot out from behind a tree squaking away like a good un, felt like we were in a scene out of the omen or something!
Some bizarre observations from Tokyo city-
1. Everybody has a mobile phone [as you would expect] oddly though we have not yet heard one ring!!
2. The city is full of cars, as you would expect with a capital city like Tokyo, we have only heard one car horn though the whole time we have been here!!
3. Nobody shouts at all in fact most of the time people either walk along together in silence or talk occasionally in a low whisper.
4. Children are largely completely unchaperoned and even take the subway on their own.
5. The average female clothing size is a size 6 to 8 infact for the female gender we have only seen one overweight Japanese girl.
6. Despite the above the portions in restraunts are huge.
