So... after a long 13 hour journey on the greyhound (took us a lil while to recover from all the nexk and back cramps of that bloody coach)! We arrived in a sunny boiling hot Byron Bay!!!
Our stay was short and in that time we pretty much chilled by the beach and explored the local area- the light house there is supposed to be quite famous... we decided our position on the beach was good enough rather that to actually exert energy walking there in the heat hee hee!
At Byron Bay we also did some exploring of the local area (just looed like a holiday place really... and booked all trips to basically fit in as much in the 2 weeks as possible...on a budget with as many freebies as possbile - even things like spending uncomfortable nights on grey hound buses saves us a nights accommodation...so all in all good plans ahead - you will have to read on to find out where we end up)!
Right so in Byron Bay - there really isnt a lot to do accept surf or sunbath - I can see why its recognised world wide for its surfing...it was soooo windy - the sand that stuck to us on the first day was actually quite painful (ouch rubbing sun tan lotion into sandy skin isnt too pleasant... but here its so hot you HAVE to be applying the lotion every time you remember)... the evenings were nice...on the first night we chilled out in the DVD room and in the second night we went down to "Cheekys" $5 for a meal ...free jugs of beer ;) in a scooner glass (these Ozzies are as good on their drink as you would think... literally its either a half pint or a scooner - which is like 3/4 of a pint) ..plus they dont even have FOSTERS beer out here... what the hell...FALSE ADVERTISING!!
Cheekys was great fun ended up with the entire place dancing on tables and chairs... though as the main age seemed to 19-20 me and Siobhan felt too old (like going to an Ocean student night) so we decided to leave the next day for Noosa!
...Only 5 hours on a coach this time...
