Alright, here we go with the final blog from the European adventure. I have posted videos of the volcano. There are more pictures that aren't uploaded, but you'll just have to check them out in the scrapbook someday. :)
As most of you know, we are back home now. I had gotten sick in Germany, had a very difficult time overcoming it, and decided I was ready to head home. The desert has called us back and we are now planning to move to Savannah in about 1 1/2 years. Ben is going to attend Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in North Phoenix and I'll start working on a Master's degree with the hopes of making more change in social welfare.
Our last stops in Europe were Brussels, Belgium and Haarlem & Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Belgian waffles are delicious! Haarlem was a cute little town about 10 minutes from Amsterdam on the train. Amsterdam was everything people say it is. We visited the Anne Frank House before the sun went down. The rest of the night was spent roaming the red tinted streets, where you can satisfy any vice you may have.
Final Amsterdam count:
# of prostitutes: 85
# of completely naked lady sightings: 1
# of men oogling the prostitutes: 3 million
# of drunk people who fell into the canal: 1 (about 20 minutes after I noticed there were no railings and commented "you know more than a few drunk people have fallen in here")
# of bicycles: infinite
Two months and 9 countries later, we are back. All in all, Europe was a grand, spectacular, wonderful, challenging, educational, different, once-in-a-lifetime experience. And I miss it already.
