We (Jenna, Shane and I) arrived in Salzburg yesterday at 1pm. We found our hostel and checked in then went straight to find something to eat. We found a healthy little shop and I had chicken curry for lunch. We then went back to our hostel and did two loads of washing together. We had to wait for our washing so we had showers and just sat around chatting. We booked in our ice cave tour for the Monday then had dinner at the hostel restaurant. The hostel is really nice and well equipped with everything we need. After dinner we all went to bed and read our books. Monday morning Jenna and I planned to go for a walk again but it was raining. So we had breakfast then the three of us went for a walk into the old town so Jenna and Shane could buy a jacket as the weather is getting colder, I also took them to the statue of Mozart as I had been here a few days earlier with Diana. We had to be back to our hostel by 12:30pm to get picked up for our ice cave tour. The bus came to pick us up and we had an hour long drive to the ice cave. Once we arrived we had to walk 5 minutes up hill to the cable car and then another 15 minutes up hill after the cable car, mind you it was still raining. We borrowed umbrellas from our hostel for €5 and we got the money back when we returned them. It was cold at the entrance of the ice cave. Every 5th person in our group got a light to hold in the cave as it was dark. When the door opened there was a huge gust of wind that blew, it was freezing but once we were in the wind stopped. We walked through the ice cave for an hour and saw natural ice sculptures, some were really pretty and some looked like animals, an elephant and a polar bear. By the end of the tour our feet were freezing and we were ready to leave. We had a snack at the restaurant near the top of the ice cave and then caught the cable car back to the bottom. Unfortunately because it was raining the views up the top were covered with fog. We caught the bus back and got home at 6:45pm. Hayley and Mick arrived today so we all had dinner together at an Italian restaurant in the old town then went home to bed. Photo is of the entrance of the ice cave.
