Will update the previous days at some point. Suffice it to say that they were interesting. We booked a trip to the Reef today. 1.75 hours later we arrived on the reef. Weatger was perfect and the water was warm. We opted for wetsuits to start but by the afternoon I decided to swim without one. Saw tonnes of fish, manta rays and a sea turtle. Interesting part of the trip so far is the relative lack of foreign tourists here compared to what we saw in Europe. Mostly Australians on the trip so that is a bit different. The people on the boat were a bit odd to say the least. One flipped out over someone taking her newspaper which he thought was communal, and there was a large group of "challenged people on the boat", one of whom was a bit inappropriate.

Our hostel is a neat little place and being on the island is relatively inexpensive...we wish we would have booked here longer (damn Mission Beach).

Tomorrow we take the ferry back to the mainland and drive 4.5 hours back to Cairns (on the wrong side of the road I might add). Plan on stopping at a few points of interest along the way.
