As I suggested in the last entry, we are still here at Berry Springs. We made our trip back to Sydney and sold everything in the house and organised the completion of the sale which happens on Friday. As of Friday 30th of August we will be "Homeless and Unemployed" and boy, Is it a good feeling!
We managed to get rid of everything in the short time we were back and lots of bargains were had by all. I have been the receiver of great "garage sale" bargains in the past so I guess this was payback time.
We had to be really ruthless and not let emotion and sentiment take over our thinking, although we did pack a few things and posted them up to family to store for us.
Jo and Phil flew down for the weekend and were a big help, keeping us supplied with breakfast, coffees etc. It was soooo great to see and hug the two (3) of them. Jo looks so well and I felt the baby kick, it was wonderful!
Our first sale on the Saturday morning was 6.15am so no time to sit around. Everything was selling quickly, even down to the tape measure and bucket of pegs!! We did had some laughs and quite enjoyed the whole event.
It was good to catch up with friends and family, but sad to be leaving some of them behind. We do hope to catch up again when we next pass through on our nomadic adventure and look forward to that.
Our house in Caringbah was a lovely family home and holds great memories for us, but at the end of the day it's just a house, the memories will be with us always. We now look forward to meeting new friends and making more memories.
When I hear other travellers talking of going home to grandchildren,I do feel a pull but I have to remind myself that if we were still in Sydney we would still be working and as the kids are so far away anyway we would see even less of them than we do now. We look forward to the not too distant future (hopefully) when we can take the grandchildren for holidays with us.
On our return to our little home on wheels, it was great to see old faces and meet new people. It seemed the "Happy Hour" slipped a bit while we were away, but --We're Back!

We plan on staying here a few more days to catch up with our sister in law, Vicki who is flying up to see her son for the weekend. Then it's preparations for leaving and heading off towards Kununurra, Lake Argyle and then Broome.
We have really enjoyed our stay here at Berry Springs and we will be sad to leave but never say never, we could be back!
I must mention the young French girl we met here. Remember the two guys we met who were cycling from Darwin to Newcastle NSW, well Valerie cycled from the coast of Adelaide to the coast of Darwin, 3030 kms!!! on her own and pulling all her belongings in a 40kg cart. The trip took her exactly 2 months and she had nothing but good experiences along the way. After reaching Darwin, Valerie then got a job as a Pedicab driver, cycling around Darwin with up to 3 passengers on the back. Go figure! The strength and determination of that girl is remarkable, and such a beautiful person, inside and out.
To all those wonderful people we have met, thank you for your support,friendship and laughs, with good luck we will meet again. It's time for us to move on as this huge country and the big open road is calling!
