Here we are, back at Coolah enjoying our beautiful grandchildren again. We agreed to do a Housesit for Jo's neighbours who have gone to Europe for 2 months so we are now living next door to some very special little people!!!
We left Elliott Heads after enjoying the company of our friends Bob and Ellen and made a quick trip down to Tweed Heads for a few days where we caught up with Mum. Jo, Phil and the girls were on holiday at Coolangatta, enjoying the warm weather and having fun on the beach so we caught up with them there too.
We watched Whales with mum from Point Danger as they travelled up the coast and Chris and I went to the Cbus Stadium to watch the Sharks/Titans game.
Those few days went quickly and then as the Coolah Jones's headed home we set off further down the coast towards where the Boorowa Jones's now live. We first spent a few days at Darlington Beach, just up from Coff's Harbour. This is a lovely caravan park with it's own golf course which made Chris happy and kangaroos every where which kept me amused. As we left Darlington Park we made 2 quick overnight stops at Bulahdelah and Pheasant's Nest before getting to Boorowa where temperatures are a lot colder.
We slept in our van while at Emma's and a good trial run for us as to if we need a diesel heater in our van or not. We woke up most mornings to temperatures of 0 degrees inside the van but with a small butane heater and a gas ring burner, the van soon warmed up!! Josh and Ellie came and joined us in the mornings and we shared snacks and IPad time. Special memories that we always treasure.
Josh and Ellie are growing up so quickly, both reading really well and we played a lot of Uno. They both cheat well enough to have made their great grandad (my dad) very proud!
We spent a good week at Boorowa, checking out their new house, school, skate park, and surrounding areas. We had a lovely day in Young where we watched Josh play soccer, had morning tea at the Chinese gardens and fed the ducks. Later Emma and Graham went shopping while we took the kids to McDonalds for lunch.
Emma now lives about 5 hours away from Jo's place so not so easy to see them all together but as we leave Boorowa we are hoping to see them again soon.
Next stop Cowra on the way to Coolah. Staying at Cowra Showgrounds we had a good couple of days looking around the town and Japanese Gardens, learning the history of the place and all about the part Cowra played in World War 2 with it's POW camp. Very interesting!
Our last stop before Coolah was Gulgong Showgrounds where it rained all day. As we were on power we just staying in the van watching TV and enjoyed the warmth of the aircon, very cozy!
Now we've been here at Coolah for about 2 weeks, enjoying the company of Max, the Spaniel and spending our days with the neighbours.
Yesterday I celebrated my birthday and had a lovely family day with a beautiful home cooked baked dinner followed by a birthday cake decorated by Olivia. (The number on the cake was correct but looks good from the wrong way up!!)
