We had a little bit of a sleep in because of the long day we had yesterday but once we got up it was all go. We had breakfast on the outside table that looks out to the beautiful village and Marie's parents had set the table and her father (Kaci) had brewed a fresh coffee for us. I don't normally drink coffee but he told me it was the best coffee and I should try it and I actually really enjoyed it. It is a good blend and he served it to us black in small bowls. Very nice!
After our breakfast Kaci and Pierre took us to Mont Ventoux by car. It is about 40 minutes drive from where we are staying and is a famous mountain that has spectacular views from the top. It is used by many cyclists and is part of the course for The Tour de France. Pierre is learning to drive and has a learners licence so still needs to be accompanied. He drove us there which was challenging for him but he did very well and although he wasn't too keen to drive back he should be proud of his efforts. We took lots of photos from the top and we located Vaison la Romaine although it was very small and hard to distinguish from nearly 1920 metres high.
Kaci bought a baguette from a Boulangerie on the way home to have with lunch and when we got back Marie-Christine had this all prepared. We are being spoilt rotten! We spent the next couple of hours relaxing by the pool and swimming because it was around 30 degrees again and I don't think this will change. It is very warm but not unbearably hot because it is a dry heat which is really nice and today there was a slight breeze.
Kaci and Marie-Christine took us to have a quick look at the old part of the village that we will return to tomorrow to walk around and have a really good look at. From what we have seen so far it is going to be like experiencing an open air museum so we look forward to this. We then went to the Supermarche for some supplies before heading home to have another lovely meal with the family. We have told them we want to cook for them one night and Casey requested a traditional Kiwi BBQ so we will do this for them on Sunday. They have not let us into the kitchen so far so this will be the least we can do. Well better get some rest because we will be doing lots of walking and sight seeing tomorrow and I don't want to be tired. Bonne Nuit!
