DAY 1: LONDON CALLING
It was a long haul, but some 24 plus hours after leaving Brisbane, we were definitely happy to touch down at Heathrow airport this afternoon.
The 3 hour layover earlier in Singapore provided some welcome respite to break up the trip. I don’t forecast any trouble spending 6 hours there on the way back. Massive airport with much to see (shop) and do.
Our first stop in London however is a brief one - just enough time to grab a shower, a change of clothes (hands up who stinks - we all do!) and a feed before turning in for some much needed shut eye ahead of our trip to Bath tomorrow morning.
Unfortunately the nearby pubs were fully booked for dinner, so we had to ‘settle’ for a nice little Italian joint a couple of doors down. The obligatory ‘first pint’ will just have to wait til another day.
