DAY 16: BACK IN THE BIG EASY Big driving day today, but we've reached our destination of New Orleans. We hit the road around 8:30 this morning. About half hour out of Vicksburg, we took an exit off Hwy 61 to enjoy a drive on the Natchez Trace Parkway. It felt like we had this scenic route to ourselves as the road weaved through a thick forest parallel to the Mississippi River. DAY 15: BLUES HIGHWAY 61 Today we headed south on Hwy 61, otherwise known as the 'Blues Highway'. About 90mins in we stopped at Clarksdale for an early lunch at the Ground Zero Blues Club. This club, owned by actor Morgan Freeman, is quirky in that they hand you a set of black markers with the menus, with the instruction 'write what you want, where you want'. DAY 14: ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING Elvis is pretty hard to ignore in Memphis, be it his silhouette in our hotel lift to any cover tune blaring out of the bars on Beale St - he's everywhere. So it was only appropriate we started the day by heading to Sun Studio, where the King was first recorded on vinyl. On our way to the studio though, we happened to walk past the local baseball park. DAY 13: ROAD TRIP! Before we checked out of our hotel today, we headed down to the river front at the end of Broadway to get in some last minute sightseeing.
