Were Now in a place called Harvey Bay staying in Koala's this is where we are heading to Fraser Island from, we have a day and 1/2 to chill & relax before we head to Fraser so we decide to do
the usual thing & relax by the pool for a few hours, a few of us went for a stroll down to the beach, it was lovely and quiet with a maximum of 15 people on the beach and there was hardly a wave,
the view was beautiful. We all met up for some lunch in a restaurant overlooking the beach which happened to be a rental shop aswel so we decided to rent a 5 seater pedalbike/car so we could
explore!! It was so tiring and the heat didn't help at all.
That evening we had to sort everything out for Fraser Island, we got split into groups of 10 and all chipped in for the food just the bare essentials such as burgers, steaks, sausages, rools and a
few snacks we spent 3-4 times more on beer thena we did on food!!!!
The next morning we were off 2 fraser Island, nice and early had to catch the ferry. We were in a Hi top Toyota Land cruiser it was full to the brim with our luggage, food, beer and all the
equipment we needed it was lovely and cosy, gud thing we were all friends, Craig was our first driver working our way through the island over to the main side stopping at a few locations for photo's,
the main place we stopped at was Mc Kenzie Bay, It had lovely white sand and clear blue water it was stunning, I (Andrew) stupidly decided to swim accross the lake it took a lot longer than i
thought, we chilled out for an hour two with a few beers and some sunbathing and swimming, We also seen a dingo there, everyone suddenly stopped what they were doing and just watched the dingo( which
happened to go up to a guy that was sleeping and lick his foot!! never seen anyone jump so much!!!!) We headed to find camp for the night.
We eventually set up camp and decided to cook cos we were all starving, after a lovely cooked BBQ( If i do say so myself) we all just chilled out with few drinking games, some of us went and sat
down by the beach it was so peaceful, the next morning we packed up and waited for the tide to go out and then headed up the 75mile beach taking it in turns to drive stopping at a shipwreck and lots
of places to take in the sights, there was a fair few other people on the beach as this is the main road, we eventually got to Indian head a spot for spotting lots of sharks and other Fish but the
sea was very rough and we couldn't see anything in the water but had some awesome views from the head itself, we headed up to champagne pools a little further up(big rock pools next to sea) we all
took a swim in there was lovely and refreshing, we had to head back quite soon so that we didn't get caught with the tide, we wanted to get as far down as possible so it was easyier for us in the
morning, Oh yeah Carly nearly killed us all with her driving(Swerving while doing 60k's on the beach to avoid 2 little birds) she didn't drive again !!! we set up cam in another nice spot by the
beach basically the same routine as the night before.
Next morning we headed off early as we had a fair bit of driving to do through the island as we were heading to Lake Wabba( the lake with massive sand dunes) it was typical we had been ther about
15mins then it decided to rain!!! we had a fair bit of driving to do to get back to the ferry for 2pm, but we made it all safe and sound with no damage to our car, we all had an awesome time on the
Island
Next place Agnus Waters/1770 time for some relaxation in the sun!!!!!
