Day 12 - Part 1: Fast Cars in Vegas!
In the morning, the Burrens went their separate ways to take in Vegas.
I went on my super car driving tour, while Nic and Josh went shopping and took in some sights. When the next credit card bill comes in, I'll tell you which was the more expensive.
First up the fast cars.
Here's a big tip - if you are ever in Vegas, add a visit to 'World Class Driving' to your holiday. Definitely a bucket list experience and worth every penny.
The tour was meant to be a drive out to Hoover Dam and back, but after hearing reports of traffic problems at the dam, the boss offered us an alternate longer route through Red Rock Canyon, which we all gratefully accepted.
The tour was like a convoy, with the boss setting the pace out in front, another employee at the tail and four super cars left to the four parties in between. At certain parts of the tour, we'd pull over, take some photos and swap cars.
Our cars today were a Ferrari, Audi, Jaguar and Lamborghini.
I got the bright red Ferrari first up and to say I was a tad nervous driving that beast in morning traffic out of Vegas would be a massive understatement!
Once we were out of the city limits and on the open road though, the pace car would shoot off encouraging us all on the two-way to 'open up and let the right pedal do all the work'. We all obliged.
Pure adrenalin rush!
The drive itself with the backdrop of the canyon was just as good as the cars. I would've taken more photos of the passing scenery to help explain the experience, but trust me, it was two hands (on the wheel) for beginners at all times!
But enough of my rev-head heaven...
