Sorry about the pictures for CAMBODIA........
Spent a few nights in Bangkok and met Georgie Perry and Kate Hislop down Koh San Road, they were going down to Koh Samui on the following day so I decided to go down with them before meeting up with a few friends from the trip before the FULL MOON PARTY. So got on a VIP bus down to Koh Samui and met a few people from Germany and Sweden. Was a much nicer ride as I was downstairs on this sofa' thing. Got to Koh Samui and the Matlang Resort eventually at 1pm the next day. Met them for lunch and the bungalows restaurant was right on the beaches edge, there were beautiful views all the way down the coastline. Went to the beach and was a relief to get in the sea again…
Watched Lewis Hamilton win the Malaysian Grand Prix this morning and for most of the rest of the day topped up on the tan that my pasty body was lacking! Went to a Seafood restaurant for dinner and I had crab, was very good and then pushed the boat out and had a few beers aswell. Was really nice to spend tome with two people I knew from home - refreshing one could say.
Moving on to Koh Phangan today, had breakfast with the girls then got a taxi to the port. Got to Ban Talay resort and lets just say it wasn't the nicest place we have stayed in. Flies all up the walls, but was far away from the beach for you not to be security conscience about anything. Went out for the get together of me with friends…. Drank a bucket and did a bit of LIMBO!!! Had to carry the Policewoman from Manchester home as she had, had a few to many lets just say. Woke up late and found an English Café and we all had beans on toast, went to the beach and I stupidly walked in the water with my phone in my pocket, was so peed off. Went out to dinner quite late and found a cool bar up in the mountains and watched the sea crashing against the cliff while having a few beverages. Went on a tour of Koh Phangan the next day and saw all the coves that were once used by pirates. Was good to do as was beautiful scenery compared to the PARTYend of the Island that we were staying on.
Got up and chilled for most of the day as tonight we knew was going to be a late one - bought some paint and had a shower, sh** and shave then out. Painted ourselves while having our first few drinks.. then met up with some of the girls who were on our trip and some of their friends. We got a few buckets then walked down to the beach which was heaving, apparently there was 10,000 people on the beach - quite insane really. Nearly got in a fight during it as had more paint in pocket so was painting those around me. Then a guy around 30 walked past and I slapped a pink handmark on his back - he did not look happy and I quickly apoligised but informed him he needs to lighten up. Danced for most the evening to Hip Hop - Trance - Dance - you name it.. Was on the beach till sunrise which was amazing still the party was going on, managed to cut the bottom of my foot open with a shard of glass as you will see in pictures Ciara helped me out.
So after a few days of rest moved on to Koh Tao which is the one I chilled out the most on… was a beautiful Island and one of the days Ben (my friend) hired a motorbike 250cc - crazy that you can rent it. And we went to a beautiful cove recommended by our guesthouse owner. It was good though as we all were drained from the partying we did on Koh Phangan so we had early nights. The next day we paddled out to a Island called Koh Nangyaun. Was basically 3 Islands connected by a beach, we decided to canoe out there which showed how unfit I was as was stopping very regulary. Then went snorkeling and saw some beautifully coloured corral and hoards of amazing fish. We decided the next day to see Koh Samui a bit more.. so again we checked into the Matlang resort.
Again for most the days as Ben hired a bike we traveled around the Island looking for beautiful beaches… our last night we went to a 5* hotel and had dinner there, dressed up and dined nicely. Still wasn't expensive but the food was amazing. Then back to Bangkok (I have now been to this place too many times).
Met up with John Shaw one of dad's old schoolfirends and am staying with him at present until I start my new trip. Have been going to where he works most days - which is basically a University. It has a massive swimming pool and have been reading in the sun quite a lot. Before the hectic days of getting up at 6 and 5am for the trip.
Will update when I move on to AUS about my days in MALAYSIA.
