Hi guys! Ok, so I've got more time to write this time, a man we just booked tours off gave us free internet use! And I should hope so too - we spent over four hundred quid each! But soooooo worth it, got some amazing things lined up to do! I'm in Cairns now, flew in over the Reef yesterday afternoon. The weather is tropical, hotter than I've ever experienced and so sunny. It was so hot today that when we sat in the sun for five minutes, the lighter in my handbag exploded! Nearly blew my arm off actually, not the best start to the day. Spent today trying to look more like a local (ie. bright orange, with cowboy hat and "thongs" that's flip flops to you and me). Met up with Helen, who's bright red and knackered after her trip to Ayre's Rock. We're staying in an amazing hotel, it's got everything, for fourteen quid a night! So, tomorrow we've booked on a scuba diving and snorkelling trip to the outer reef. Tonight we're going to an Aboriginal dinner in the outback - must start practising my funky dance moves and loud whoops. Then Sunday we're hiring a car and driving north to Prt Douglas (a chic beach resort), staying the night, then onto Kuranda (aboriginal markets) and then up to Cape Tribulation, which is the rainforest, where we're staying Monday night. Then Tuesday back down to Mission Beach (south of Cairns) and spending Wednesdaywhite water rafting on the Tully River - bring on the broken ribs and Lyme's Disease! (joking, mum). Then onto Townsville (a big city) for Australia Day, before we head to Airlie BEach where, piece de resisitance, we go on a luxury yacht for a three day cruise round the Whitsunday Islands. Think we'll do some trekking, some more scuba diving and lots of lazing about in the sun, woohoo! Then my guess is I'll sleep for about three months.
