So this week there wasn't much going on other than classes and the gym. We've been getting updates about the coronavirus and the possibility of us being sent home. As of now we may just have to enroll in this school's online classes incase of our return home, but for now we are staying put. NZ only has 8 cases so we're much safer here than traveling through airports and returning to a country with more cases. The back and forth with determining if we can stay or not has been very stressful and quite annoying. I don't understand why we would even consider going home but we'll see what happens. On Friday we went to a rugby game and it was really cool to experience NZ's favorite sport. I watched a YouTube video on rugby for dummies before we went so I could try to understand the game, but I still pretty much had no clue what was going on. It was still a very cool expierence! On Saturday we were supposed to take a bus trip into Auckland and go to the Auckland zoo but they cancelled the bus trip due to all of the coronavirus cases being in Auckland. So instead, we booked a hostel in Raglan and we stayed over night at the beach! It was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen and it was amazing there! We walked more than I've ever walked in my life in just two days and it was all up and down hills the entire time. The hills aren't straight though either, everything is slanted left and right too, so if my ankles weren't strong before they are now. We stayed in the hostel in rooms with two bunk beds so I slept in a room with Kira, Elli, and Julia. We had a lot of fun and even saw glow worms on the rocks outside our hostel! We spent majority of our weekend soaking up the sun and beautiful views while relaxing on the beach. I really hope we don't have to leave this place sooner than planned!
