Well, next bike race coming right up. We stopped in Haworth, Bronte country, for lunch today, and the place was a delight. Yellow bunting festooning every building, yellow bikes everywhere, even a dummy cyclist with legs akimbo, head first in a pile of straw bales. Inadvertently, as we tried to navigate from Matlock Spa to Fountain Abbey, we ended up tracing some of
the stages of le Tour, which was handy because it compensated for the convoluted and confused way we were going. And now we discover that the advertised WI-fi isn't working for us. Can't plan, can't communicate with anyone. Really frustrating, when the WI-fi was a significant factor in selecting the place originally.
LATER: so we are in McDonald's again, catching up a bit. Today we were in Thirsk, the home of All Creatures great and Small vet Alf . Last night Alf Wight. Last night we went to Leeds to watch the Grand Depart of the tour, and although we weren't inside the Leeds Arena, we watched the teams ride up through the streets to enter.
