This is a picture of a Norwegian fjord. In the pouring rain. So while not sparkling blue in clear sunshine, it was pretty impressive in its own right, with hundreds of rain induced waterfalls (as opposed to snow-melt ones). We also went up the funicular here, and investigated the ancient fortress, and the fish markets. So we decided to take a detour and support someone we knew in the UCI Women’s Tour of Norway - and she heard these odd people yelling out ‘go Spratty’ as she went past, and doubled back later to find us. Happy days :)

We are staying at a very old and picturesque town called Koge, 40 Minutes south of Copenhagen on a train. Copenhagen was yesterday’s adventure, but Roskilde and its Viking ship Museum was today’s. As we bought entry tickets, we asked about the boat trip, there were still places available, so we booked onto that as well. So things have moved on apace. This photo is of Ross finishing his 63km loop of the Stelvio pass in Italy - it is very close to the Swiss and Austrian border as well - Ross could tell by the quality of the roads as to whether he was in Switzerland or Italy. It is at an altitude of about 2700m, which also has an impact, and he headed off to climb the 48 hair pins of the ascent very early so as to avoid those who had come on motor bikes and fast cars to emulate the...

We were warned that Switzerland is expensive, to the extent that the Swiss take holidays to Konstanz so that they can take advantage of the cheaper products in the retailers there. But there is something to be said for Switzerland : it really is very beautiful. Hasliberg is a very quiet little snow resort, almost empty in Summer.
