Cabrillo National Monument. After we left here we found out that we can see the whales from here. We'll be back! But the dogs enjoyed the walk.

Well Saturday is National Public Lands Day and we will be here at beautiful Lake Kaweah for that. We will leave here on Monday Sept. 30 and head for Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. I did manage to get all of our pictues from here uploaded and updated before we left! I hope to do the same with our next stop.

Well we decided to visit "The Park" today. So we stopped and filled up with very expensive gas so that we wouldn't run out. There is no gas in the park. So we stopped and took pictures of the rushing Kaweah River that runs into the Kaweah Lake. If it wasn't running so fast I would have jumped into it! We were able to tour the Terminus Dam on Lake Kaweah today. It was pretty neat. Of course looking at the city and orchards from Headquarters is really neat. Look at all that stuff you can see. The marina on Lake Kaweah has three fingers of docks. There are a lot of private houseboats out there. But every time the wind blows those 3 fingers of docks break off and go floating away. Well, what was supposed to be a 3 day trip turned into one day. We left Roper Lake yesterday morning. Fully intending to stop for 2 nights somewhere. What we did do was try to stop somewhere in Southern California for the night. Unfortunately it was still WAY too hot so we decided to move on. We were boondocking so we had no A/C. By the time we found somewhere to stop it was 3 am. It was just down the street. But we managed to sleep for about 3- 4 hours...
