Made into Gregory National park. Camping on the East Baines River, at Bullita Camping ground. Enjoyed 2 days of exploring and 4wding around the park. Beautiful black rock escarpments, very rugged, dry and rocky. Enjoyed a talk from the ranger on the history of Bullita Station, and the stories of the men and women trying to run cattle in this harsh environment. Excited to be getting out of the city today-back into the bush-Litchfield National Park. We ended up having a bit of fun with the cars and campers -on a 4wd track, turns out-when it says no trailers -it means no trailers-our old prado saved the day in the end! On our way to Darwin- for a re-supply and look around. Stayed at a big 4 just outside Darwin-a kids paradise, with a jumping pillow, water park and 3 pools! Headed into Jim Jim falls today. About 45 minutes on rough corregations-then a harder 40 minute 4wd into the falls car park. Kakadu is still able to surprise-and surprised we were when we arrived at the falls. It was a fairly difficult walk in, then we stepped onto a white sandy beach, surrounded by 200m tall cliffs, a 200m tall twin waterfall, and an amazing swimming hole!
