HiroshimaMarch 26thIt was quite a long trip down to Hiroshima and i was on the trains for about 9 hours, so i had plenty of time to decide what i was going to do and then it came to me like a light being switched on, what was the rush to get back to China? So i decided to ditch the return flight, which was just as well, as i had forgotten to confirm it with the airline, and get a ferry from japan, as the place they leave from was only another couple of hours west of hiroshima. it was loads of hassle changing everything, but it meant 3 hours on the hydrofoil as opposed to 24 hrs on a ferry. Not much to say about Hiroshima without it turning into a history lesson which you probably all know anyway, but it is one of those places you have to go to and then you will understand. It is only when you have travelled all around the city and then stand at the "A bomb dome" and see the picture of the town after the bomb that you sort of get an idea of just how big the destruction was.The museum is very good as well as sad, it shows you things from peoples housed such as plates and coins, that melted and fused together from the heat. Whilst there i stayed in a traditional "Ryokan" guest house which has the bamboo mats that you sleep on. Very comfortable i must say.Next day i had to get to Fukuoka, which was where the hydrofoil sails to Korea from. The last sailing is at 10am, so rather than leave at the crack of dawn, i booked in at a hostel there, so i could take it nice and leisurely in the morning..............That was not how it turned out.Next installment...........Anneka Rice eat your heart out
