Pichilemu...what a little paradise. We couldn´t have arrived at a better time...Chillian week, Fondos, street parties, and loadsa alcohol.... We arrived around 6 in the evening.
By the time we arrived at our accommodation were ready for a few beers. So we had a quick walk around the town until we happened upon a nice looking bar. We had a few beers, then a few more, the owner gave us a few local shots aswell to say thank you for our custom.
After a good lay in we headed to town to see what it looked like in the daylight. The beach was very busy.
We sorted out some admin etc. and then headed back for a shower and to get ready to go out for the evening. As we walked along the main street we bumped into the Irish lads we met in Santiago. They invited us back to their rented house. A lovely cabin on the beach.
We grabbed some beer and joined the lads around their warm open fire. We all sat round having a laugh for a couple of hours before heading to a fonder which is basically a big wooden shed with a live band and massive bar in it.
It was full of locals celebrating Chilean week. A rave, dancing, the locals trying to teach us how they dance. They had a thing for waving toilet paper around their heads, naturally we joined in.
We stayed till the sun came up. Then we staggered back and slept the day away. We eventually got up we headed out for a walk to refresh our heads.
Later we headed back over to the Irish lads pad. Victor, Jeramey, Dave, Shaun, and Hughie and Helen all suffering too. It was nice to chill for a few hours before heading out to... yes you guessed it, the fonder again. This time we were joined by some Canadian lads, here for a snow boarding competition in a few days time.
We all headed of and danced the night away, later that day we decided to go surfing...Unfortunately the weather turned, the waves were too high for beginners.
Next day town was really busy. A massive street parade and all sorts going on, horse parades, military parade, and even school children.... it was really good to see how they celebrate.
We stayed in pichilemu a bit to long really but it was nice just to chill so we had one more night out with the Boys to say good bye then we headed of the next day to Talca, 4 hours south of Pichilemu.
