From Bangkok Kim and I caught a flight to Surat Thani and then got the ferry to Koh Samui. The girls flew directly to Koh Samui and we met up there. This is our first slice of these much talked about islands and first impressions didn't fail. Turquoise blue waters, sun shine and a real relaxed vibe.

We are currently on Koh Tao after a 4 hour boat ride, this is the smallest of the 3 islands and renowned for its great diving and good value PADI courses.

We proposed the PADI course as a plan and Emma and Pip agreed. I think it came as a shock to Emma and Pip when our instructor "Andy", told us that we'd have to sit an exam, stay inside and refrain from drinking. So fortunately we've got all the studying out of the way and tomorrow we hopefully do our first dive in the big blue sea.
