Wahoo - the day has arrived ... we're off to Legoland!
A quick stop at the V Baumart to get a new airbed (cos Brett's kept going down) and a car pump (cos I'm too lazy to pump up the beds by hand) first thing then we arrived at Legoland. German efficiency was at it's peak as there was someone to direct which carpark to go to and another 2 people (and some traffic cones) to tell you which lane to park in. We were pleasantly surprised at the short queues to get in and there was no bag search like at uShaka!
And so we entered ... wow! It was very impressive even for two non-Lego obsessed visitors. First stop was Miniland which had model versions of Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich airport, Venice, Switzerland, Neuschwanstein Castle and many more. There were moving windmills, boats, trains etc which made it even more impressive. Brett reckoned the coolest by far though was the Star Wars models with scenes from all the different movies :)
Once we had seen Miniland we made our way around the other lands, going on rides, waiting in queues and generally having a great day.
We were a little shocked at how rude some people were. We had a whole family join their brother/son who had pushed in front of a whole heap of us. Another lady and her children pushed in front of Brett and I when we were 90% of the way through the queue! Once we got onto the ride I hopped into a cart and then a rather large butt plonked down next to me. I was pretty sure Brett hadn't got that fat in a couple of minutes and I turned to see the rude lady. I very quickly got out and moved to join Brett who had to go in the cart behind. Quite unbelievable ... especially that these parents are teaching their kids that this kind of behaviour is ok. End of rant ;)
Oh, wait, a mini rant, WASPS! I can't believe how many of them are around! Can anyone tell us what use they are ... other than annoying me and 'making me nervous' (as Brett likes to say).
Legoland also has an arena for performances. At the moment they have a Chinese Circus show twice a day. Wow they were amazing! They did acrobatics, strength stuff and balancing a ridiculous number of items on your head. The way the girls could bend was insane ... and the muscles on all of them were very impressive!
Despite the rants above we actually had a fantastic day seeing the creativity of so many people and enjoying the rush of the rides. At 6pm we finally left (we arrived just before 10am) with sore feet but happy :)
