Another beautiful sunny day in Miami...
As it was to be our last, we decided we would take a boat cruise around Miami harbour.
Miami harbour has a number of residential islands in the bay and like most things you find in bikini's on South Beach, they're all man made...
Created in the early 1900's from dredging the harbour to allow larger ships, Fisher Island, named after the original owner, is now considered the most expensive real estate in the US. It also boasts the highest income per capita of anywhere in the US.
The neighbouring Island, appropriately named "Star Island" has homes owned by Brad and Angie, Shaquille, Charlie, Will, David and Vic to name a few...
We headed out into the Atlantic ocean for a bit of a play around in our 1000hp beast, before heading along South Beach.
Returning to our dock about 90 minutes later, it was great start to the day.
Mounting our 50cc chariot for a cruise back into South Beach promenade and lunch at a local cafe. By now, I should have seen it coming... Ordering a couple of "Half Pound" burgers, we were surprised to see the scrawniest burgers you could imagine presented in front of us... Fed up with the ****, I challenged the waiter to explain the "half pound" bit on the menu... Immediately descending into a "me no understand much Engrish" and a befuddled look on his face...
Me: Mate, that doesn't look like half a pound !
Him: Wot ?
Me: The burger, it doesn't look like half a pound !
Him: Confused look on his face... Wot ?
Me: Squinting and deepening my tone.. That isn't half a pound !
Him: Calling his fellow waiter over for back up and muttering in Cuban / Spanish... K ?
Me: Blank look, refusing to repeat myself again...
Them: Wot you want? anudder one ?
Me: As Brad inches lower towards the table.. Nah mate, we'll be right....
Just wasn't worth the effort... I've attached a photo of Brads burger and the subsequent bill....
After almost a week of sunning ourselves and not doing much else, it was time to get ready to leave.
We are heading North to St Louis for a couple of days and then we are off to Indianapolis !
Yep, more petrol head stuff :)
