This is just a quick note to say thanks again to everyone for all the wonderful messages! We really enjoy reading them - one of the few english things we can get our hands on. We are finished Spanish lessons in Quito and are heading this afternoon to Otavalo for the weekend to see the outdoor market.

Spanish lessons in Quito were great - our teacher was wonderful. We will not be sorry to leave the busses behind though (they always seem to be turning around when they aren´t supposed to). We went to the Teleferiqo yesterday (a tram up the Pichincha volcanoe) and had a nice view of Quito. All in all though, we are ready to move on. Quito is a big dirty city with lots of poverty. It is sad to see Quechua women trying to sell gum and lottery tickets on the street with their babies strapped to their backs. We are looking forward to getting out of the city and into smaller towns where things are a little less overwhelming. Here´s hoping our bus makes it all the way to its destination this time!
