We're falling apart, a month into this journey and we're all very tired. We slept in until 7:30 before heading out for breakfast. New York ADD took over though on the way to breakfast - first I made everyone stop for an umbrella (a freezing drizzle day) then a little further up the street I made everyone stop for Brooks Brothers. A few Ties, Hankies and Cufflinks heavier we headed down 5th Ave.
A little umming and ahhing and we settle on the rink side cafe, what a location! Almost empty restaurant at 10am on a drizzling Saturday morning. We're rink side for a lazy brunch, this feels nice! My mistake was to order a hot toddy, I actually got some hot apple pie proxy cocktail, warm cinnamony flavour knocked me for 6, I needed a few espressos after that :)
We finish brunch and video Max's annual interview at the cafe, not sure how it will turn out, but awesome background if it does. By mid-day we're finally off to Nintendo world, we had planned to be there by 9 for the opening :)
Max is in his element, there is Mario, Kong & Luigi stuff everywhere, of course this doesn't matter because of all the Pokemon stuff crowding out all other input. We manage to break concentration lock an hour later. Gab takes Emerson shopping for some birthday clothes at Gap on 5th while I go get a wash and cut at the what should be the cupcake and juicebars of 2013 - this place is awesome (http://www.trumans-nyc.com/).
Fresh from my cleanup we head home to dump our shopping before setting off to the MoMA for the afternoon. What a place, so much iconic content we don't do the place justice rushing through. The highlights have to be seeing a Jasper Johns and Jackson Pollock up close, but the winner is Max and Emerson getting sucked into an installation about Art on TV, I turned around and they've sat themselves in the piece watching the video, the guard had a big smirk on his face, I guess it happens abit.
MoMA closes so we head to Tiffany & Co for another birthday present for Emerson, its a surprise so shhh!
Finally dinner at a diner up the road I'm feeling warm and fuzzy by the end of the first beer and tired and emotional halfway through the second. A real New York Black & White malt knocked Emerson for six leaving me to carry her home - a whole block, love NYC!
The next morning I've noticed a big quality decay in these New York blog posts. I should let you know that I'm falling asleep a few times in each one. NYC is draining us all, there is way too much to see and do. I'd hoped our lazy mid-town day would correct it, but we still did 18500 steps today and I'm barely awake at 10:30. Pretty sure it isn't the beer and carbs :)

helen aurisch Ooh it might be time to slow down just a LITTLE, or you won't survive the rest of your awesome world trip! Good to see you are all having such a ball!
Al Ahhh NYC she's a mean mistress. I loved the fact everything happens all at once when I was there... I'll show you the Tatt I got of Lady Liberty.
