Russell is a lovely little town where my lovely husband bought a fishing rod from a second hand shop for $3.00 and has been like an excited child ever since and gagging to go fishing! Bless!!!! Anyway further north up the coast he only bloody goes and catches some fish!! Ahh Yehhhh! We spent a lovely evening eating Carwhy (not sure if that is the right spelling at all). So so proud!!!!

So we reached the furthest northerly point in New Zealand at Cape Reinga. It was a very windy day and there had been a storm the previous evening so the winds were really strong. It was a lovely place to go. We then travelled back down and went to a Kauri forest and saw some of the famous Kauri trees which are the biggest trees that I have ever seen before......they are so vast and now there is only 3% of the population left.
