Our Montañita experience was short but sweet enough. Unfortunately the sun we'd gone in search of was non existent. It was still warm enough to walk around in shorts, tshirts and flip flops but it was almost constantly slightly spitting and cloudy. We arrived in the afternoon and found a place to stay then went for food followed by cheap caipirinhas and aislinn tried to teach me to play pool in an empty bar. We slept under mosquito nets for the first time (nowhere we've been has been warm enough and low down enough for them) The next morning we had a gorgeous morning dip in the warm pacific. The waves were actually pretty fierce but i guess thats why its a surfing town. When i say its a surfing town I mean for tourists. The place is full of hostels, bars, restaurants and shops selling flip flops and sarongs. We quite liked but it wasn't the most exciting place We decided to catch a bus to nearby Puerto López instead, a fishing town near a national park and the best place for whale watching.
