We've arrived safely in Oz (although our luggage didn't, but we're happily reunited now!), and its great!  Stopping in a fantastic hostel, its rooms are like cose bedrooms, not the scuzzy places we've become accustomed to.  Its lovely being able to understand everyone.  Looking forward to the next 5 months!Take care each,Laura and Stu

Hello! Well we've made it! After a fantastic 4 weeks (how fast has that gone?) in China, we made the 2 hour trip to Bangkok. Weather has gone from blistering hot to pouring with rain to blistering hot again! Have been to the grand palace, which is well, grand! And a huge weekend market. Still, there is plenty more to do! Howdy People, Well, we've had quite an adventure over the last couple of weeks. We got the sleeper train to Xi'an, and saw the Terracotta Army amongst many other things, then came back to Beijing before setting off into the sticks. (Well, we say setting off, but it took a bus, a mini bus who dropped us in the middle of nowhere, a taxi and a bit of a walk...) Eventually we ended up in Simatai, a beautiful part of the Great Wall. Arrived safely in China, after a 10 hour flight. At heathrow, we both got searched (X-Rayed), and then had to sit in different parts of the plane. Still, stu got some peace and quiet! Amazingly, managed to get the Shuttle bus from Beijing Airport, and decided to walk to the Hostel from the stop, (perhaps not a wise move when you're not sure where you're going!), but so many helpful people made sure we got here.
