We woke to beautiful blue skies in Caceres this morning and as we are on a bit of a schedule now to hit the remaining sites before we head home we decided to set off early towards Madrid in the hope of squeezing in a trip to Toledo on the way. The day was warming up, but we took the turn off the motorway to Toledo late morning only to drive into a cloud, and a cold one at that - what?! - that's just not fair! But we grabbed the coats and followed the crowds tow...

We woke this morning with the rain still relentlessly pounding down on Bob and so any plans of beaches and bike rides were quickly abandoned and we decided to have a lazy day instead - only for the rain to stop and blue skies appear as though we had dreamt the storms... by which point it was too late to squeeze in the planned bike ride but we decided to still head for the Tapada Nacional de Mafra (Dom Joao V's old hunting grounds) and hike one of the trails inste...

We said a sad farewell to the Thorley family this morning and headed North towards Lisbon. After doing battle with some crazy drivers on the city roads and almost checking into one campsite which was a building site we eventually found a campsite in Cascais just in time for a quick play on the playground and an early night for everyone before heading into Lisbon tomorrow.
