G'day again from downunder!
We are now in the city of Brisbane. Had a bit of an ordeal findin a place to stay as the first few places we went where full, but eventually found a place although it is a little out of the city centre it seams pretty nice. Although there is a bar next door playin some of the worst music (dance!). Found out that some festival was just on so thats why everywhere is pretty busy, also its the final of the NRL rugby league tonight so all the bars gearing up to that, so pretty busy already! Should tell u a little bout what else we did in Hervey Bay. On the second day we did a tour of the island, the tour itslef was graet and got to see pretty much all there is to see on Fraser Island, including a pretty long stop at lake McKenzie which is amazing! Although we did have a bad start as the boats engine broke down and we had to offload onto another ship mid sea! But the cars on board didnt have such a good fate as the engine that broke was also for the hydrolics for the ramp so they were stuck on the boat, and on the way back heard they where still there 7 hours later, so not a good day for people in cars! Anyway back to Brisbane. Not really to many sights in Brisbane but i dont think that matters as the city seams like a really cool place and i think it will be pretty gud to just stick around and explore! anyways thats all from Brisbane so far and will update the blog from surfers paradise (or before!) with more info on what we been up to!
I thought id give in and write the update before we set off to surfers. Pretty much just wondered round the city on our second day, which was pretty nice but a big walk as well. We also decided to try move our outbound flight back to try fit Melbourne into the trip, that hopefully will be sorted tomorrow. Today we went to Australia Zoo, home, sorry former home of the Crocodile Hunter! Although Steve Irwin has passed on his face is still all over the park and theres videos with him on. Its pretty wierd that hes talkin to you from beyond the grave! His daugter Bindi has stepped up into the face of Australia zoo role, and has her own tv show and everythin! i dont really agree with this as i think shes too young for any of that stuff, but oh well! Anyways about the zoo, it was pretty good, better than your average but not the best in the world. The crocodile show in the "Crocosium" was pretty good, as was the tiger show. Apart from that it was pretty much the same as most zoos apart from it had more exotic animals, such as the venomous snakes of oz. All in all i would say it was a good day out, and got some great photos with steve (well cut outs of him anyway!). Well thats pretty much it for Brisbane as we leave tomorrow, after sorting this flight situation out first!
No worries
