Hi!This must be the worst experience in my life.or it just feels like it..Finally in Beijing! After a 50 hour long trip.We started in Hanoi, 22nd , at 12 o clock. and arrived here 24th, at 14;30.We started with a bus ride from Hanoi, in a minivan.. 10 people or more. The minivan dropped us of at the border crossing to China. After just a 4 hour busride. After 20 minutes of getting trough the security check and passport control we were in China. We were told that a bus was picking us up at the border, but there was no bus. After running around for one hour looking for something that even looks like a bus, we found a guy that told us to wait. After one hour of waiting a bus came and picked us up,me, Martin and 30 asian people. Then they drove us for 20 minutes then of again to wait for a newbus. This is not explained in English just in Chinese, so we just have to guess what they are talking about. Then it's time to get off the bus again and wait, this without Chinese money, that means no food for us.But lucky us There was one young girl on the bus who spoke English and she invited us for food. She paid for some noodles for us, that was like a dream. Then after 2 hours a minivan comes and drives us to a sleeping bus in the idle of nowhere. Then you just run to get a bed. No one cares that you have a ticket, they just steel your bed. Running paid of, we got our beds. By then it's time for theearplugs and blindfold. after 30 minutes believing that we are one our way, Martin tells me to look out. They have the hazard lights on. And driving about 20 km/h.. I ignored the information and forced my body to go to sleep. ;) It worked out fine, for a couple of hours. Then i woke up and realized that the bus wasn't moving. Hmm i went back to sleep, hoping that i'd wake up when we arrived in Guangzhou. That didn't go so well, because i woke up 2 hours later and we were still at the same place. And this was at 6, when we should have been in Guangzhou. Then an angry man started to scream something in Chinese, i think. My first thought was that we have to run out fast, it is probably time for a bus change, like always here. And my guess was right, so i run off and just run to the next bus. Went in to find to beds, then put my things all over them. Then back to the old bus to explain to a newly awoken Martin, he wasn't on the same planet as me..: )Finally it was time to go sleep again, the fact that we should have been in Guangzhou by now didn't annoy me! You never get there in time here!! You just have to get used to it!When we got there it was 9 hours late, it would have been ok if we didn't have a train to catch. But we made it, after 2 hours of hard work. My only wish by then was to get some food, after 24 hours of nothing...But that was to much to ask for. After 2 more hours i got a bowl of rice. The best rice of my life.: )After one hour of movie watching in bed they turned of the tv,and all the lights, to mine and Martin's surprise, but not to the others on the train.. Then i slept for 10 hours, that is the only thing you can do.... Then after 5 hours we were in Beijing. That was like a dream, getting off, knowing that you don't have to run to the next bus or train..Now we are in a super nice hotel, my smile was the biggest of them all when i went in to our room. A shower, a big bed, our own space. Like a dream!!Our trip so far has been everything i wanted and more.. The past 2 days were really bad, but the rest has been so nice. I've seen so much in 2 months, and it's far from over. Martin told you all his version of this and now you can compare them both.I'm always closer to the truth than him! JI wrote in English so that some of you could hear my version too. I'll try to write in English one more time before we get home, if not then i at least did my best. Emma from Beijing! Time for some proper food now!!!!
