Hey everybody! Well, we finally made it to Athens... finally. We left Rome at 9 in the morning, and got into Athens at 6:30 pm the next day. If we did the trip again, I think we would fly, but it was fun to ride on the ferry (much nicer than 6 years ago) and meet some fellow travelers. Last night we went straight to a travel agency just around the block from our hotel (upgraded and we had AC, perfect for Athens!) and booked our boats to and from Santorini. We slept in a little today, because we finally had a bed, left our bags at the hotel and went to the Acropolis. It is amazing to think that it was built 2600 years ago! We have been walking around Athens today, getting ready to catch our boat at 10 pm tonight for Santorini. We were a little worried about availability because we have heard that they were using Greek Ferrys to transport Americans out of Lebannon and Israel. But we got both ways, and dont have to find lodging either night because they are both overnight. So it's off to Santorini we go, for 4 relaxing days before the 2 days of travel to get back to Amsterdam and then to Seattle. Wish us luck! Bryan and Anna
