I spent three months on a school-building project in the Akuapem Mountains in Ghana; three months at Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Malaysian Borneo; and five months travelling and volunteering in South America with Merazonia Animal Refuge in Ecuador and Pisco Sin Fronteras, a volunteer disaster reconstruction organisation working to help families who lost their homes i…

It was fun to read your reflections on Ampal. I got to spend a few days at Sepilok in 2009 and took him out to the play area a couple of times because he was so gentle and agreeable. He did drive me crazy with the wandering off thing. Wish I'd known he was just trying to visit the bears! I've known a lot of orangutans but none quite like him. I was searching him on the internet because I was curious to know what became of him. Do you have a way of finding out?

Well Kerbs, got your post card the other day! Cheers. Although you didn't have to go all the way to Africa just to find someone faster than me...there's about 10 out at Moygannon who are up to the job! The boys beat Downpatrick the other night (I've a gammy hammy) so first two points on the board! It's the same old craic at training, running and more running - Keith's still shouting "WIDE", Ants is still paranoid that he'll play all year and be dropped for the Championship, Gabey is on a strict diet of Friar Tucks and Country Fried, Roney Mac is slowly recovering from the tackle bag incident and Conor 'Butterbean' McGarry is in intense training for his boxing next month (I think he's down to size 46 shorts now!).
