Our Practice Run for Retirement
The last 2 months have almost flown by. We still seem to have so much to do to get ready, its hard to believe we start our travels in 36 hours.
Thursday/Friday were tough days saying good bye to everyone at work but the excitement is also building as we approach Monday (launch day).
This last weekend is non-stop sorting, packing and prepping. We've done a trial run of loading the bikes into the trailer and other than a slight mishap with some gravel resulting in a minor burn, things went great. Pretty excited about how this set up will work actually.
We've made our last run to Alex's (Dessa's son) attic to trade off our remaining work wardrobe for our more casual and warmer attire. The closet has been reworked and as hard as it might be to believe I actually have almost half the space. Dessa has had to do a lot of culling of shoes, boots, jeans, ... but she's done it and I'm very proud of her.
Last night we celebrated Hunter's (our 1 yr old Grandson) first Halloween. He made a cute Sully and although he didn't quite understand what was happening, he very much enjoyed his first DumDum sucker.
Today, we got the vaccinations we need for the trip to Thailand in January and tomorrow we have our final Family lunch until we get back into town in mid-December. We are going to miss these weekly get togethers.
