Raining today, no tennis.
Alternative arrangements commenced with pizza somewhere near Charing Cross, followed by a visit to Horse Guards Museum and a wander in the general direction of Parliament House.
The Horse Guards Building has been the headquarters for the Household Cavalry for three hundred years or so. Two mounted troopers stand guard at the entrance and are a real hit with tourists, especially with those well behaved horses.
There's a heap of statues of famous people down near Parliament House: Oliver Cromwell, Richard the Lionheart, Winston Churchill, Douglas Haig, Emaline Pankhurst (who?), the Burgers of Calais (I really don't know who they were).
The highlight was my visit to Westminster Abbey. Being Sunday, the only admissions were for services and the late afternoon organ recital which was hosted in the nave. That organ is really impressive and the acoustics are pretty good in the Abbey.
I also attended Evensong for which seating was arranged forward of the choir area much closer to the altar. It sure is an impressive and beautiful place.
Sick of the drizzle, so it's back home for me for a well deserved hot shower.
