Just arrived bak from Fraser Island. Oh my god it was amazing! Unbelievable place! Started off from Rainbow Beach and met everyone at Dingoes backpackers. I was in a group with two lovely English girls, two Dutch guys, two American guys and a French girl. We got on great and had such a laugh the whole time. We packed up the 4x4 cars and headed to the Barge. In out group it was only Klass, the dutch guy and myself that could drive. I started off and majorly embarrassed myself! Driving in soft sand is a complete nightmare. We got completely left behind and then got our wheels stuck. Byron the guide had to drive all the way bak down and save us. Once i got the hang of it i did pretty well. It was so much fun driving up the coast, beautiful view! Just sand and sea for miles. Along the way we saw a few Dingoes two and a few whales out in the sea. We arrived at our camp site and set our tents up then drove down the longest, bumpiest road ever to Lake Mckenzie. It was worth the journey tho. Completely breathtaking! Everyone went for a swim and had a sunbathe, it was a lovely afternoon. We then went bak to the camp and cooked up some steaks on the barbies. Then the goon was opend and the party began! Everyone was very drunk, had a great night! Sleeping in the tent was not so fun tho!
The next day we went to Indian Head and the Champagne Pools. Both were amazing! Got some great pictures.
That night the goon was out again and everyone was began the drinking games. I failed and lost and got very drunk! Had a much better sleep that night tho!
Today we went to Lake Wabby, it was a very long walk to get there but it was worth it. There was a massive sand blow and huge dunes down to the lake.
We drove bak and sorted out the cars and then grabbed showers. It was sorely needed! three days without a shower on the biggest sand Island in the world left us dying for a nice long shower!
Heading out with people from the trip now for dinner and then i am catching a bus at seven oclock up to Airlie Beach. Not looking forward to the 14 hours but journey but i am sure it will be worth it when i get out to Whitsundays!
Will upload photos at my next stop.!
