We spent most of the day on the plane. The flight was nice enough but we both struggled to get confortable. Bev's feet also swelled and really hurt. Arriving in Osaka, Japan at 5:30pm and was sadly greeted with a 2 and a half hour wait at passport control.
Finger print and mug shoots taken we collected our bags and passed the test from a very polite customs officer. Beverley entered the train station to get our Japan Rail passes. She was served by a very friendly assistant and between them worked out it would be better to buy passes to Kyoto to save our Japan Rail passes for the train to the airport in Tokyo.
On the express train to Kyoto we passed Osaka at night. We soon realised we would miss check-in time for our Hostel. Frantically we tried to find a contact number for the hostel, lucky Beverley's Katie came to our rescue by texting the number. Unfortunately it was closed.
Arriving in Kyoto we grabbed a Taxi to the Hostel without knowing if we would be able to stay. After using my directions I had created through Google the Taxi driver got us there in no time. Luckily the staff where still around and we managed to check In.
Quick trip to a Seven Eleven for some food and water and straight to bed. We await to see Japan in daylight tomorrow.
