I have decided to set up this little blog to let all my close friends and family see what I get up to whilst away on my elective; 30th May- 28th July.

I fly from Manchester to Kuala Lumpur on 30th May before flying into Kota Kinabalu on 31st May.

I am completing my medical elective at Queen Elizabeth Hospital II which is a Children's and Women's hospital. I'm hoping to undertake an Obstetric placement here, whilst the others do Paediatrics.

There is a lot to organise still in the next few weeks:
• insurance
• forms to the medical school
• visa for Vietnam
• flight to KK
• train to Manchester airport
• accommodation in KK
• vaccinations - jap enceph &/or cholera
• malarone

I will update you with more details in the next few weeks once I know a little more about our plans!
