Today, we got up at 6:45. We were on the bus by 7:45. First, we drove to the MLK memorial. It really is a beautiful memorial and I think it honors MLK beautifully. Next, we went to the FDR memorial. He was such an influential president and the memorial does a great job representing all that he did. Next, we went to the George Mason memorial. It's sad to see it in such a state of disrepair. His memorial has been forgotten, just like him. Next, we went to the Thomas Jefferson memorial. I learned something new. I did not know that Thomas Jefferson did not write "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." After the Thomas Jefferson memorial, we went to the Smithsonian. We went to the Museum of Natural History. I found it very interesting. I especially liked the giant squid. Even though I'm not into jewelry, the Hope Diamond was stunning. The tarantula feeding was fun to watch. After the Smithsonian, we went to lunch at the Capitol. Then, we went on a tour of the Capitol. It was really interesting and cool to tour such an important place. I especially liked Statue Room. We left the Capitol and went to the Library of Congress. We did not go inside, but we took pictures of it. Next, we went to the Supreme Court. We took pictures there. After the Supreme Court, we went to the White House. We took lots of pictures of it. We saw the White House sniper. We also saw the lady who has been protesting since 1982. For dinner, we went to Fuel Pizza. It was okay, but not that great. During dinner, I had a gluten reaction from what I think was the pudding I ate at lunch. I did not participate in the rest of that night's activities, but I think we visited several memorials before going back to the hotels.
